MATT PETERSON:Matt Peterson Trio Jazz

From Debussy to Gershwin, Matt's piano styling is comfortable. Join us on Saturday evening for a relaxed dinner, delicious wine and great music. . . a complete evening for all the senses.

Matt Peterson is a classical and jazz pianist from Seattle, WA. He has performed around the country as a soloist and in groups. His accolades include being the overall winner of the Wheaton College Ben Heppner Concerto Competition with Gershwin’s Concerto in F, and being an invited performer to the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival. He has also performed with the Disneyland All-American College Band at the Disneyland parks in Anaheim, California, and with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. He holds a Masters degree in jazz studies from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

Matt is also an in-demand composer of concert works as well as works for film, theatre, and Internet productions. His full-length CDs of his original piano composition, The Bridge, and The Paradise Suite, are available on iTunes. Read more about Matt >

GREG FISHMAN:

Greg is a star in his own right, performing with Woody Hermann’s Big Band and countless other well-known performers as well as personally acclaimed both nationally and internationally as an artist and teacher. He has multiple recordings, is author to numerous publications and is teacher and mentor to many of the young musicians emerging on the music scene today. Greg is one of the foremost experts on the music of Stan Getz.

Carmen Stokes, Jazz ArtistWe were thrilled to have the talented and engaging Jazz Artist Carmen Stokes perform at Suzette's on Fridays this past spring!

Carmen Stokes entertains patrons on the Baby Grand Piano in our dining room on Friday evenings this fall & winter. Her delightful charm and silky chords are the perfect accompaniment to Suzette's relaxed, French country cuisine.

CARMEN STOKES:
From Classical to Jazz training, Carmen incorporates jazz, gospel, blues, funk, classical and Latin forms into her music. Performing internationally and nationally, she has graced the stage with legendary artist including Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Prince and countless others. Chicago Jazz Legend Ramsey Lewis contacted Carmen to perform his songs at the Chicago Jazz Awards. Her tribute to Lewis commanded a standing ovation and a glowing review from Howard Reich, arts critic for the Chicago Tribune.

Enjoy this menu created by Chef Chris Thielman & Karen Thielman. Chef Chris Thielman and his wife, Karen, (Full bio here) will be instructing this class centered on French cuisine, wine and culture. Along with instruction, the class will be peppered with personal experiences from their extensive travel in France. Chef Chris is a 32 year instructor at the College of DuPage Culinary Arts Program. Karen is the recipient of the Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques from the government of France as well as a Certified specialist of Wines with the Society of Wine Educators. The class will end around the table with a tasting of the food prepared and wines specifically chosen to go with the food prepared. And, of course, convivial conversation about our French adventures experienced or yet to come. More details about the menu for this class to follow. Many folks have become familiar with many of the wonderful wines hailing from Spain these days. Cava, Rioja and Albariño have become pretty common on wine lists across the country. And for good reason! They are world class, delicious and affordable quaffs. But have you ever sipped a Jumilla from Mercia? How about a Priorat from Catalonia, or maybe a Godello from Galicia? At this class you will have the opportunity to sample these and some of Spain’s other hidden gems. Join us for an evening of six exquisite Iberian wines paired with a four course dinner and experience a little history about the region, it’s wines and it’s cuisine. $125 per person plus gratuity.

Suzette's is pleased to help with your Thanksgiving and assorted holiday events. All pre-orders for Thanksgiving must be in by Sunday, November 24 to make a Wednesday November 27 pick-up. All pre-orders for the Christmas Holidays must by in by Sunday, December 15 to make a December 24 pick-up. We will be open 8 am–noon for pick-ups on December 24.

Beaujolais Nouveau Day

All over France on Thursday, people will be celebrating the day when bottles of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau wine hit the shelves. Beaujolais Nouveau Day has become one of the best known festivals in France and is celebrated all over the world. This young wine, Beaujolais Nouveau, it is on the shelves between six to eight weeks after the grapes are harvested. 

The release date of the Beaujolais was established in 1985. It was decided that the third Thursday in November would be the uniform release date. The main festival is in Lyon where barrels of Beaujolais Nouveau wine are rolled by wine-growers through the centre before being opened.
