Our Instructors: Jean True

Jean True began her culinary career over 35 years ago. With a MSED, a very active family, she began to focus her "extra" energies on teaching cooking classes. After taking cooking classes herself, with Monique Hooker, Jacques Pepin, Giuliano Bugialli and Paula Wolfert, to name a few, Jean became passionate about French and Italian foods and their culture.

This lead to emphazing French cooking technique in all her classes and her catering company, True Cuisine. With her very respected catering company known through out the Chicagoland area, Jean opened a French Bistro in Aurora for three years. During this time, she began taking "students" to France. One of the most memorable trips was taking cooking classes in Julia Child's home in Provence with Kathy Alex.

Today, Jean is retired from her company, but she is teaching cooking classes, planning and directing culinary trips to France, consulting for various restaurants and is an active member of Les Dames d' Escoffier of Chicago.
